Heavy storm kills 2 people in California, US
At least two people, an infant, and a 19-year-old woman, have been killed a heavy storm is pummeling California with high winds, flooding rain, and feet of snow.
A baby was killed and three other people suffered minor injuries after a tree toppled onto a home in Sonoma County, local reports said.
A 19-year-old woman died after the car she was driving hydroplaned and crashed into a utility pole, in Fairfield, California, northeast of San Francisco.
“At around 8:39 am on Wednesday, January 4, Police Dispatch received reports of a single-vehicle collision on Vanden Road at One Lake. Upon arrival, officers located the driver, a 19-year-old woman, and resident of Fairfield. Unfortunately, she did not survive the crash,” the Fairfield police department said.
Fairfield PD also urged residents to be cautious about the dangers posed by water on roadways. (ILKHA)
