Turkish President Erdoğan to speak with Russian, Ukrainian counterparts over phone
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will speak to Russian and Ukrainian leaders over the phone on Wednesday.
“We are continuing its intense diplomacy with both sides. Indeed, our relevant ministers, foreign and defense ministers, and other colleagues are maintaining talks with their counterparts from both sides,” presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said in in a televised interview.
“Türkiye is the only country that could make this happen in this capacity,” Kalın added.
Since February 24, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has played a mediator role between Russia and Ukraine, has maintained regular contact with Putin and Zelensky.
Turkey also hosted negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian officials in Istanbul and Antalya. (ILKHA)
