Turkish security forces seize more than 32 kilograms of drug in eastern Van province
Turkish security forces have seized more than 32 kilograms of narcotic drug near the Turkey-Iran border in the Başkale district of Van province, Defense Ministry said.
“During the search activities carried out on the Turkey-Iran border in Van, 32 kilos and 950 grams of the narcotic drug were seized in 4 bags,” the Ministry wrote on Twitter.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted of these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
