Afghan Red Crescent Society distributes cash aid to beggars in Herat
Afghan Red Crescent Society started monthly cash aid to beggars in Herat.
130 beggar families, out of 400, received monthly payments in Herat by ARCS with each family receiving 2,000 Afghanis.
In August, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan launched the process of rounding up beggars from the streets in a bid to uproot the beggary from society.
The Islamic Emirate also decided to pay 2,000 afghani monthly to each deserving beggar’s family members while warning professional beggars to stop begging otherwise they be dealt with according to the law. (ILKHA)
