At least 8 police officers killed in explosion near Iraq’s Kirkuk
At least eight Iraqi federal policemen were killed when a roadside bomb struck their convoy southwest of the oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Sunday.
The explosion took place near the village of Safra, which lies about 30 km southwest of Kirkuk, according to local sources.
Two other officers were critically injured in the incident, Iraqi officials said.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but ISIL (ISIS) members are active in the area. (ILKHA)
