European Orphan Hand carries on charitable activities in Burundi
European Orphan Hand (Avrupa Yetim Eli), an international help organization based in Mannheim, Germany, has delivered humanitarian aid to the IDPs in Burundi.
European Orphan Eli volunteers provided blankets, food parcels, hot meals, and clothing aid to thousands of people living in IDP camps in the Gutambo region of Burundi, one of the poorest countries in the world with more than 70 percent of the population living in poverty.
Speaking to Ilke News Agency regarding their charitable activities in Burundi, Nizamettin Aygan, a volunteer for European Orphan Hand, said: “As the humanitarian aid organization European Orphan Hand, we continue our humanitarian aid activities in Burundi. There was a flood disaster in this region 3 years ago. Many buildings, which were made with the construction material adobe, were destroyed in the flood. Thousands of victims now have to live in tents. Since the tents are very thin and it is cold at night, people requested blankets from us. We distributed the blankets we provided with the support of philanthropists to these people living in the camps.” (ILKHA)
