The recall involves 142,277 Model 3 vehicles manufactured between Dec. 27, 2020 and Nov. 7, 2022, and 292,855 Model Y vehicles produced between Jan. 1, 2021 and Nov. 11, 2022, China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) said in a statement.

“For some vehicles within the scope of this recall, during the process of waking up from the parking state, the software of the vehicle’s position lights may have an error when initializing internal parameters, resulting in the position lights on one or both sides of the rear of the vehicle not being able to light up,” SAMR noted.

“Occasional failure of position marker lights in a dark environment will reduce the visibility of the vehicle, and in extreme cases will increase the risk of vehicle collision accidents, posing safety hazards,” it added. (ILKHA)
