Türkiye’s lignite production increases by 3.7% in September
Marketable production of lignite was 6 million 653 thousand 341 tons in September, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
Marketable production of lignite increased by 3.7% in September compared to the previous month and by 3.3% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Marketable production of hard coal was 129 thousand 410 tons in September
Marketable production of hard coal decreased by 2.6% in September compared to the previous month and whilst it increased by 5.6% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Marketable production of coke derived from hard coal was 409 thousand 929 tons in September. This production increased by 0.5% in September compared to the previous month and by 0.8% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Imports of hard coal was 3 million 225 thousand 543 tons in September
Imports of hard coal decreased by 10.1% in September compared to the previous month and by 3.8% compared to the same month of the previous year.
Imports of coke derived from hard coal decreased by 57.4% in September compared to the previous month and by 22.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.
The highest ratio of production to deliveries was in lignite in September
The highest ratio of production to deliveries was in lignite by 106.2% in September. This ratio was 91.9% for coke derived from hard coal and 3.9% for hard coal.
Hard coal and lignite were delivered mostly to thermal power plants
Concerning the deliveries of solid fuels in September; 60.8% of hard coal was delivered to thermal power plants, 15.0% to coking plants, and 10.5% to industry (except iron and steel industry).
Additionally, 81.9% of lignite was delivered to thermal power plants and 10.4% to industry (except the iron and steel industry). Lastly, 96.2% of coke derived from hard coal was delivered to the iron and steel industry. (ILKHA)
