Turkey's domestic producer inflation rises by 103.7 pct—statistical agency
Non-Domestic Producer Price Index (ND-PPI) increased by 103.79% annually, by 1.34% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
ND-PPI (2010=100) increased by 1.34% monthly, by 42.61% on December of the previous year, by 103.79% on same month of the previous year and by 101.19% on the twelve months moving averages basis in October 2022.
Manufacturing increased by 103.72% annually
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry increased by 107.98% for mining and stone quarrying, by 103.72% for manufacturing compared with the previous year.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 112.88% for intermediate goods, by 99.16% for durable consumer goods, by 95.98% for non-durable consumer goods, by 165.85% for energy, by 96.16% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 1.37% monthly
ND-PPI in two main sectors of industry decreased by 0.17% for mining and stone quarrying, increased by 1.37% for manufacturing, compared with the previous month.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 0.82% for intermediate goods, by 1.72% for durable consumer goods, by 1.50% for non-durable consumer goods, by 0.93% for energy, by 1.97% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general ND-PPI, lower annual change observed in 12 subdivisions while 13 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for tobacco products by 71.78%, for wearing apparel by 72.17%, for metal ores by 84.82%. On the other hand the highest rates of annual increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for coke and refined petroleum products by 165.85%, for other non-metallic mineral products by 136.30%, for chemicals and chemical products by 129.34%.
Compared to general ND-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 11 subdivisions while 14 subdivisions were higher
The highest rates of monthly decrease in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for metal ores by 2.46%, for basic metals by 0.85%, for other manufactured goods by 0.06%. On the other hand the highest rates of monthly increase in ND-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 5.86%, for computer, electronic and optical products by 5.86%, for other non-metallic mineral products by 3.54%.
