Erdoğan extends his condolences to Palestine for Gaza fire victims
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has shared a post on Twitter regarding the fire that broke out at the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of 21 of our Palestinian brothers, including children, in the fire disaster in Gaza,” Erdoğan tweeted.
“I wish Allah's mercy to those who died in this incident, patience to their families, and speedy recovery to the injured. I offer my condolences to the friendly and brotherly Palestinian people,” he added.
On Thursday, a fire at a residential building killed at least 21 people in the Jabalia Refugee Camp in the Gaza Strip.
Most of the victims were from the Abu Raya family who were celebrating the return of a family member who had come back from abroad.
The fire is believed to have come from large amounts of gasoline somebody had stored inside the building to use a generator. The candles appear to have ignited the gasoline, triggering the blaze. (ILKHA)
