“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs expresses its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the government and people of the brotherly Republic of Turkey for the victims of the explosion that occurred in a coal mine in Bartın province, northern Turkey, this evening,” the Ministry said in a statement.

On Friday, at least 28 workers were killed and 15 others injured after a deadly explosion occurred in Amasra coal mine in Amasra, Bartın Province, Turkey.

The explosion occurred at 6:30 PM local time. At the time of the incident, around 110 people were working in the mine and almost half of them were at over 300 meters deep. (ILKHA)
