Putin signs executive order to extend food sanctions on western countries
Russia's President Vladimir Putin has signed an executive order on extending certain special economic measures to ensure the security of the Russian Federation, Kremlin said in a statement on Tuesday.
“The Executive Order was signed to protect the national interests of the Russian Federation and in accordance with Federal Law No. 281-FZ On Special Economic and Enforcement Measures dated December 30, 2006, and Federal Law No. 390-FZ On Security dated December 28, 2010,” the statement said
The statement noted that “the Government of the Russian Federation was instructed to ensure, within the scope of its competence, that action be taken to implement the Executive Order and, if necessary, propose changes to the effective period of certain special economic measures.””
“The Executive Order takes effect upon its signing,” it added. (ILKHA)
