Ukraine: Huge explosions reported in Kyiv
At least five explosions were heard around Ukrainian capital early on Monday, local sources reported.
“Unfortunately, there are wounded and killed in several places,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
“The capital is under attack from Russian terrorists! The rockets hit objects in the city center (in the Shevchenkiv district) and in the Solomyan district. The air alert, and therefore the threat, continues”, Klitschko added.
Klitschko urged all residents of the capital to stay in shelters during the alarm.
“If there is no urgent need, it is better not to go to the city today,” Klitschko said.
Local Telegram channels reported that Smoke was seen rising from several spots in the city center.
The number of casualties is not yet known.
Also, local media outlets reported hearing explosions in the center of Dnipro city in southern Ukraine.
The attacks come just days after a blast on the Kerch Strait Bridge that links occupied Crimea to Russia. (ILKHA)
