Magnitude 6.2 earthquake hits near northern coast of Indonesia's Sumatra island -USGS
A Magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the northern coast of Indonesia's Sumatra Island on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter of the quake was 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) south-southwest of Meulaboh, a coastal city in Aceh province at a depth of 49 kilometers (30.4 miles), the agency said.
There were no immediate reports of serious damage or casualties and officials said there was no threat of a tsunami. (ILKHA)
