At least 7 killed as explosion takes place near mosque in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul
The explosion occurred when the worshipers were leaving the mosque after Friday prayers, local sources reported.
Kabul security officials said that all the victims of today's explosion near the entrance of Wazir Akbar Khan Mosque in Kabul are civilians.
Khalid Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul Police, did not give any details about the nature of the explosion and the number of casualties in the blast, but he confirmed that all the victims are civilian worshippers.
The target of the explosion was the leaders of Islamic Emirate who had just left the mosque and were riding in their car when the explosion occurred, according to Afghan officials.
The Emergency Hospital in Kabul said that at least seven people were killed and 10 injured were transferred to this hospital from today's explosion near the mosque. (ILKHA)
