Erdoğan conducts intense diplomatic traffic in UN General Assembly
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visiting New York for the 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, has held intensive talks with the heads of state and government.
The diplomacy traffic of President Erdoğan, which started at the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in Uzbekistan last week, continued in New York.
In Samarkand, President Erdoğan met with President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, President Putin of Russia, President Raisi of Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, President Xi Jinping of China, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa of Mongolia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.
Erdoğan continues his meetings with some heads of state and government in New York. As part of these contacts, President Erdoğan, who received some leaders at the Türkevi, met with some of them at the UN Headquarters.
As part of his official engagements, Erdoğan met with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Head of the Presidential Council of Libya Mohammad Younes Menfi, Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President Alejandro Eduardo Giammattei Falla of Guatemala, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili of Georgia, Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany, Prime Minister Yair Lapid of Israel and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan at the Türkevi.
Following his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Erdoğan met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, President Sauli Niinistö of Finland, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez of Spain at the UN Headquarters.
Erdoğan also conversed with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Yoon Suk-yeol of South Korea and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed of Bangladesh at the UN Headquarters.
Erdoğan also received US Senators Lindsey Graham and Chris Coons at Türkevi.
It is anticipated that Erdoğan will meet with some other heads of state and government today. (ILKHA)
