Algeria to hold major meeting for Palestinian factions next month
A major meeting for Palestinian factions is slated to take place during the first week of next October in Algeria to explore avenues for healing the national rift in the Palestinian arena.
Palestinian ambassador to Algeria Fayez Abu Aita told the Voice of Palestine radio that a new round of talks between representatives of factions already kicked off in Algiers as a prelude to holding an extensive meeting for the participating factions in early October.
Abu Aita expressed hope that the Algerian efforts could succeed in having the factions to agree on a consensus formula that achieves the national unity and ends the long-time division in the Palestinian arena.
Last Sunday, a high-level delegation from the Hamas Movement led by head of its Arab and Islamic relations office Khalil al-Hayya arrived in the Algerian capital. (ILKHA)
