Mufti Hussein: Attacking Islamic sanctities grave violation
Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and preacher of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, said on Tuesday that attacking the Islamic sanctities in Jerusalem constitutes contempt for the rights of Arab and Islamic nations.
In a press release, Sheikh Hussein condemned the extremist rabbi Yehuda Glick for blowing the shofar in the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards, describing such violation as "grave and irresponsible" and would lead to a religious conflict in the region and the whole world.
“Al-Aqsa Mosque will always be an Islamic holy site despite all the israeli attempts to control it,” Sheikh Hussein stressed, calling on the international community to intervene urgently to stop the escalating israeli violations of the Palestinian people’s rights and holy sites.
Earlier on Sunday, extremist rabbi Yehuda Glick broadcasted a recorded sound of blowing the shofar in the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards after breaking into the holy site.
The shofar is a trumpet made of a ram’s horn that the Jews use in their rituals to announce the attendance of prayer. (ILKHA)
