Turkish presidency publishes book on Ankara’s diplomatic initiatives for peace
The book “Türkiye’s Central Role in Strengthening Regional Cooperation and Stability”, prepared by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, has been published.
The book, which describes Türkiye's central, multidimensional and stabilizing role in bringing about peace and ending conflicts, also explains Türkiye's initiatives for establishing international peace and calm in line with its enterprising and humanitarian foreign policy under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
The book presents Türkiye’s “enterprising and humanitarian diplomacy” in five chapters. The first chapter is devoted to Türkiye's efforts to use diplomacy to put an end to the Russian-Ukrainian war, the meetings that brought Russian and Ukrainian authorities together in Türkiye, and the crucial role that Türkiye plays in putting an end to the war, as part of Türkiye's efforts to end regional conflicts and restore peace.
The second chapter focuses on Türkiye's role in the process of signing the “The Initiative on the Safe Transportation of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian Ports” for the safe passage of Ukrainian grain from the Black Sea as part of its mediation efforts for the peaceful resolution of the crises that negatively affect many countries around the world.
The third chapter of the book, which is about Türkiye's fight against terrorist organizations, goes into detail on the efforts made to restore peace in Syria, where terrorist organizations are based, and to stop terrorist organizations from posing a threat to regional countries by taking advantage of the power vacuum.
The fourth chapter highlights Türkiye's central role in lowering bilateral and multilateral tensions in international relations, as well as Türkiye's success in protecting its rights arising from international law and based on equity in the Eastern Mediterranean while maintaining a conflict-free environment with neighbouring countries.
The last chapter discusses Türkiye's multifaceted contribution to regional cooperation, attempts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, efforts to secure direct transportation between Baku and Türkiye, and the reopening of former conflict zones to trade.
The book, prepared in both Turkish and Russian, also examines the international media’s coverage of these issues, the influence campaigns conducted in support of and against Türkiye, as well as the disinformation and manipulation attempts on this topic.
“Türkiye will continue its efforts to become a global actor on the path to peace and stability”
In his remarks about the book, the Presidency’s Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun stated that under the leadership of President Erdoğan, Türkiye has assumed a leading role in establishing peace and stability in its region and around the world.
Director of Communications Altun emphasized that Türkiye has a central position and undertakes an important mission with its mediating and stabilizing role in times of regional and global crisis, noting that all countries of the world appreciate the human-oriented diplomacy carried out by the country.
Stating that Türkiye will continue its efforts from the fight against terrorism to the peaceful resolution of crises and from mediation activities to ensuring the sustainability of energy, food and human security, Altun said: “Türkiye, which is an effective power in its region, will continue its efforts to become a global actor on the path to peace and stability under the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and will continue to do its part as a stabilizing power.” (ILKHA)
