Casualties reported after explosion at Russian Embassy in Kabul
The explosion at the Russian Embassy in Kabul killed one person and injured 10 others, according to local sources.
A suicide bomber blew himself up when a Russian diplomat came out to name visa applicants, Russia’s state news agency RIA Novosti reported.
The agency said that there were between 15 to 20 casualties, but did not differentiate between dead and wounded.
Meanwhile, Khalid Zadran, the spokesman of the Kabul Police, said that the suicide bomber wanted to blow himself up near the Russian Embassy in the seventh district of Kabul in the midst of a crowd of people, but he was neutralized by the security forces before reaching his goal.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosion. (ILKHA)
