Turkiye's goodness train leaves for Afghanistan
Turkiye’s sixth expedition of the “goodness train" carrying 1,5000 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan departed from the capital Ankara on Wednesday.
10 humanitarian groups from Turkiye, under the umbrella of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), are supplying humanitarian aid to Afghanistan where about 70 percent of households are unable to meet basic food and non-food needs.
“The sixth expedition of goodness train is on its way to Afghanistan! After 5 expeditions consisting of 15 trains, the sixth expedition of the goodness train, which was prepared with the support of 10 non-governmental organizations that came together again under the coordination of AFAD, will deliver 1,500 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan,” the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) said on Twitter.
The aid will be distributed to more than 1 million people in all 34 provinces of Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
