An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 hits near the coast of Ecuador
An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 struck near the coast of Ecuador on Sunday, the United States Geological Survey said.
The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km (6 miles) and struck about 86 km north of Manta, the USGS said.
The quake, which was felt by many people in the area of the epicenter, did not cause significant damage, other than objects falling from shelves, broken windows, etc.
The event has not prompted any tsunami advisories. (ILKHA)
