At least one person killed, 20 others injured as blast rocks Armenia’s capital
A huge explosion at a fireworks storage area tore through a market in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, killing at least one person, injuring 20 others, according to local sources.
The emergency situations ministry said that firefighting trucks and ambulances were rushed to the scene of the blast where people are feared trap.
Videos posted on social media platforms showed thick grey smoke rising above a building, followed by the blast that sent people running away from the scene.
There are fears the death toll could climb higher, as some people have been trapped under the rubble, officials said.
