Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan removed the head of the Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) from office after of allegations that some questions of the Public Personnel Selection Exam (KPSS) were leaked.

The questions had been in quizbooks published by the Yediiklim Publishing House before the exam. The center had initially rejected the claims.

“We are determined to strengthen the place of ÖSYM in the heart of the nation by sharing with the public the deficiencies and disruptions that have arisen and taking precautions. We apologize to all candidates for this unfortunate process that caused cancellations and postponements in a way we never wanted,” Ersoy said in a statement.

The Measuring, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) is the body responsible for organizing the national-level university entrance examination Student Selection and Placement System, Public Personnel Selection Exam (KPSS), and several other large-scale examinations in Turkey.

ÖSYM also operates the world's one and only government-operated dedicated large-scale (5600 people at a time) computer-based test center. (ILKHA)
