Police seize 1.6 tons of cocaine in Mexican capital
Mexican police said that they seized 1.6 tons of cocaine Tuesday believed to be from Colombia.
The drugs were found in hidden compartments in two trucks on a highway on the edge of the city, Mexico City’s security chief Omar Garcia Harfuch said.
It was the largest seizure of cocaine in Mexico City by far, he noted, adding that four suspected cartel members were arrested.
The cocaine was originally shipped from Colombia via sea to Puerto Escondido, according to an initial investigation. (ILKHA)
