Since the early morning hours, the Israeli forces were deployed in large numbers in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in Silwan amid heavy firing of teargas and sound bombs.

Several children, women and elderly suffered breathing problems during the attack, local sources reported.

Red Crescent crews affirmed that an infant was among the casualties treated for breathing problems while a child was treated for being sprayed with pepper gas.

Zionist forces violently broke into the house of the head of the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood committee, Zuhair Al-Rajbi, and brutally assaulted him along with his family members, including his children.

Al-Rajbi family was also subjected to a second attack while on their way to hospital for treatment.

Following the attack, Al-Rajbi was arrested along with his older son.

An elderly and his wife were also injured during the violent raid.

Palestinian residents in Silwan are under great pressure from israeli settlers. Silwan is a prime example of how israel gears its policies toward Palestinians and their property. (ILKHA)
