Afghan disaster agency provides cash assistance to flood-affected families in Ghazni
Officials of Afghanistan's Natural Disaster Maagement Department said they provided cash assistance to flood-affected families in Ghazni.
Each family who lost a member in floods given 100,000AFN while 50,000AFN was given to family whose members were injured in the disaster.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), since 5 July, flash floods have reportedly killed 39 people across five provinces - Uruzgan (20), Ghazni (6), Nuristan (7), Paktya (3) and Zabul (3).
Around 2,900 houses have been damaged or destroyed due to heavy rains, the agency said. (ILKHA)
