Türkiye set to hold wide range of events on July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day
Turkish Presidency's Directorate of Communications will hold outdoor and digital communication activities throughout the country under the theme "Türkiye Forever" to draw attention to July 15.
As part of the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day, the Presidency's Directorate of Communications will organise a wide range of commemoration events throughout Türkiye and abroad under the theme "Türkiye Forever."
Events coordinated by the Directorate will emphasise that the epic of July 15 was written with love of homeland and nation, as well as the Turkish nation's strong will and determination.
The international commemoration events will focus on the July 15 democratic victory, the power of Turkish democracy, and the threat posed by the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) to world democracies.
The commemoration events mentioned above aim to keep the spirit of July 15 alive, to strengthen national consciousness, and to remember the martyrs with respect.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will lay flowers with veterans and relatives of martyrs at the July 15 Monument at the Presidential Complex on July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day.
Erdoğan will lay a wreath at the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (GNAT) Monument following the Friday prayer and Khatam Sharif programme at the Nation's Mosque.
Following his programme in Ankara, President Erdoğan will address the nation at the Democracy National Unity Day event on July 15 in Istanbul's Saraçhane Square in the evening.
"From Istanbul to New York, the strength of the national will to be demonstrated"
Turkish and English films, videos, video clips, and documentaries that describe FETO in all its aspects, emphasising the nation's resistance, the state's struggle, and the victory of democracy, will be screened as part of the events organised under the coordination of the Presidency's Directorate of Communications.
Throughout the country, outdoor and digital communication activities with the theme of July 15 will be held. On July 15, screenings will be held on LED screens at Istanbul's Saraçhane, Beşiktaş, Üsküdar neighbourhoods, and Istanbul Airport, Ankara's Ulus Square, in front of Kentpark Shopping Mall, Kızılay Square, and Izmir's Konak Square.
Mobile LED shows will be held in New York to draw attention to July 15.
“The Salaah will be read in all mosques"
The Press Advertisement Institution, on the other hand, will host an exhibition titled "July 15 and Headlines" at Marmaray Yenikapı Station.
The "Türkiye Forever" themed July 15 Democracy and National Unity Train, dressed in cooperation with the Directorate of Communications and Turkish State Railways (TCDD), will depart from Ankara to Istanbul-Söğütlüçeşme Train Station tomorrow.
The three-day photography exhibitions will be held by the Directorate of Communications in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Eskişehir, Konya, Kayseri, Gaziantep, Sivas, Trabzon, Kahramanmaraş, and Erzurum as well.
The Salaah will be read in all mosques on July 15 under the cooperation of the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
On the same day, the Galata Tower, Haydarpaşa Train Station, and Atatürk Cultural Centre will host a video mapping show, while TRT1 will air the movie Şafak Vakti and TRT Music will broadcast the Epic of July 15 Symphony by Fahir Atakoğlu.
"We will not forget July 15, nor will we let it be forgotten"
Director of Communications Altun said in his statement that President Erdoğan and his nation exhibited incredible heroism in the face of the July 15, 2016, invasion effort disguised as a coup attempt.
Recalling that a tremendous betrayal was eliminated with an unprecedented struggle, Director of Communications Altun emphasised that July 15 was the victory of the national will and democracy and that the nation took to the streets that night and wrote a heroic epic against traitors and cowards.
Noting that they organised commemoration programmes and events as the Directorate, both at home and abroad, to keep alive this spirit of struggle that emerged on the night of July 15, Director of Communications Altun noted that they continue to tell the whole world the true face of the bloody FETO terrorist organisation.
Director of Communications Altun said, "As our President has always stated, we will not forget July 15, nor will we let it be forgotten. We will always remember the betrayals of FETO. We will always keep alive the epic struggle of our nation, the memory of our martyrs, and the heroism of our veterans."
"9 thousand programmes will be held"
In addition, the Directorate of Communications, as part of its coordination tasks, recorded the highest number of projects/events in the last six years, with about 9,000 project entries made by institutions and organisations in the July 15 Project Tracking System.
While the number of projects was 2 thousand 961 in 2020 and 3 thousand 876 in 2021, the number of programmes to be realised this year exceeded the total of the previous two years.
This number was an indication that July 15 was kept alive and that the citizens were still on the watch for democracy. (ILKHA)
