In the message, Yapıcıoğlu congratulated the Islamic World on Eid al-Adha (Qurban), which honors the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah's command.

“Qurban means closeness. The worship of sacrifice is a means of getting closer to our Lord, relatives, and the poor,” Yapıcıoğlu said.

Reminding that Eid al-Adha enjoys special significance because the Day of Sacrifice marks the climax of Hajj or Pilgrimage, the fifth pillar of Islam, Yapıcıoğlu went on to say: “We must be able to transform such a meeting, where millions of Muslims from every language and color in the world come together, into a political, economic, military and cultural solidarity and unity.”

“I congratulate all Islamic World, especially the pilgrims who are in the holy lands for the pilgrimage, on the Eid-al-Adha. May Allah accept their pilgrimage and sacrifices and other worship,” Yapıcıoğlu said. (ILKHA)
