Fitch raises its 2022 growth forecast for Turkish economy
Turkey’s economy performed much better than expected in the first quarter of this year, international credit rating agency Fitch Ratings said in its Global Economic Outlook Report.
“The Turkish economy is expected to grow by 4.5 percent this year, 3 percent in 2023, and 2.9 percent in 2024,” the agency noted.
The agency had previously predicted that the Turkish economy would grow 2.4 percent in 2022 and 3.2 percent in 2023.
Meanwhile, the agency slashed its 2022 growth expectation for the global economy from 3.5 percent to 2.9 percent. (ILKHA)
