Türkiye’s domestic producer inflation rises by 132.16% on annual basis
Domestic producer price index (D-PPI) in Türkiye increased by 132.16% on annual basis, by 8.76% on monthly basis, the country’s statistical institute said on Friday.
D-PPI (2003=100) increased by 8.76% on monthly basis, by 51.43% on December of the previous year basis, by 132.16% on same month of the previous year basis and by 80.38% on the twelve months moving averages basis in May 2022.
Manufacturing increased by 115.18% annually
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 133.49% for mining and stone quarrying, by 115.18% for manufacturing, by 360.30% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 70.02% for water supply, annually.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 122.21% for intermediate goods, by 83.41% for durable consumer goods, by 106.82% for non-durable consumer goods, by 300.16% for energy, by 79.08% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 5.46% monthly
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 6.22% for mining and stone quarrying, by 5.46% for manufacturing, by 38.49% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 4.70% for water supply, monthly.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 4.99% for intermediate goods, by 3.57% for durable consumer goods, by 7.06% for non-durable consumer goods, by 27.65% for energy, by 4.11% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower annual change observed in 24 subdivisions while 5 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 43.79%, for wearing apparel by 44.33%, for other transport equipment by 59.38%.
On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 360.30%, for crude petroleum and natural gas by 250.13%, for coke and refined petroleum products by 246.09%.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 26 subdivisions while 3 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 0.97%, for metal ores by 1.33%, for other transport equipment by 1.64%.
On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning by 38.49%, for other mining and quarrying products by 11.00%, for beverages by 10.87%. (ILKHA)
