Pakistani soldier killed in North Waziristan
A Pakistani soldier was killed after gunmen fired at a military post in general area Datta Khel, North Waziristan District, the military’s media wing Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
“On night 1 / 2 Jun 22, terrorists fired at a military post in general area Datta Khel, North Waziristan District. Own troops initiated a prompt response and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location,” the statement said. “However, during an intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Hamid Ali (age 28 years, resident of Sargodha) having fought gallantly, embraced Shahadat.”
The statement noted that “sanitization of the area is being carried out to eliminate any terrorists found in the area.”
“Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not go unpunished,” it added. (ILKHA)
