Turkish police seize 27 kg of heroin in eastern Turkey
Five suspects were arrested on charges of drug trafficking in Turkey’s eastern Van province on Wednesday, the provincial police department said in a statement.
According to the statement, 27 kilograms of heroin were found and seized during an inspection of the residence of the detainees.
The suspected drug dealers will be brought before the court after the police investigation is completed.
Turkey maintains strict laws against the use, possession, or trafficking of illegal drugs. If convicted of these offenses, one could receive a heavy fine or a prison sentence of 4 to 24 years. (ILKHA)
