Turkey’s employment index rises by 6.9% annually—statistical agency
Employment index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 6.9% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said.
When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 5.8%, construction sector increased by 0.4% and trade-services sector increased by 8.8%.
Hours worked index increased by 11.8% annually
Hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 11.8% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 7.8%, construction sector increased by 3.5% and trade-services sector increased by 16.2%.
Gross wages-salaries index increased by 68.1% annually
Gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 68.1% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 63.3%, construction sector increased by 53.5% and trade-services sector increased by 73.8%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 19.5% quarterly
Gross wages-salaries index increased by 19.5% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 19.5%, construction sector increased by 17% and trade-services sector increased by 19.9%.
Hourly labor cost index increased by 51% annually
Hourly labor cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 51% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 52.7%, construction sector increased by 49.4% and trade-services sector increased by 49.8%.
Hourly earnings index increased by 50.3% annually
Hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 50.3% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 51.4%, construction sector increased by 48.3% and trade-services sector increased by 49.5%.
Hourly labor cost excluding earnings index increased by 55.1% annually
Hourly labor cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased by 55.1% in the first quarter of 2022 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 60.3%, construction sector increased by 54.7% and trade-services sector increased by 51.5%.
