EU to hold sixth Brussels Conference on Syria
The European Union will be hosting the sixth Brussels Conference on 'Supporting the future of Syria and the region' on 9 and 10 May.
The event’s overarching objective is to continue supporting the Syrian people in Syria and the region and mobilize the international community in support of a comprehensive and credible political solution to the Syrian conflict.
As with the five previous editions, Brussels VI will also address the most critical humanitarian and resilience issues affecting Syrians and communities hosting refugees from Syria, both inside the country and in the region, and will renew the international community’s political and financial support for Syria’s neighbors, particularly Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, as well as Egypt and Iraq.
Turkey will be represented by a delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sedat Önal at the conference. (ILKHA)
