Turkey's domestic producer inflation rises by 121.82% in April
The domestic producer price index (D-PPI) increased by 121.82% on annual basis, by 7.67% on monthly basis, the Turkish Statistical Institute said on Thursday.
D-PPI (2003=100) increased by 7.67% on monthly basis, by 39.23% on December of the previous year basis, by 121.82% on same month of the previous year basis and by 72.03% on the twelve months moving averages basis in April 2022.
Manufacturing increased by 112.08% annually
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 125.88% for mining and stone quarrying, by 112.08% for manufacturing, by 247.50% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 63.17% for water supply, annually.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 122.65% for intermediate goods, by 81.33% for durable consumer goods, by 96.37% for non-durable consumer goods, by 229.68% for energy, by 77.40% for capital goods, annually.
Manufacturing increased by 7.35% monthly
D-PPI in four main sectors of industry increased by 12.77% for mining and stone quarrying, by 7.35% for manufacturing, by 7.99% for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning, by 14.95% for water supply, monthly.
The indices of main industrial groups; increased by 6.50% for intermediate goods, by 5.23% for durable consumer goods, by 11.45% for non-durable consumer goods, by 8.38% for energy, by 3.35% for capital goods, monthly.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower annual change observed in 22 subdivisions while 7 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for wearing apparel by 42.08%, for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 42.09%, for leather and related products by 60.13%.
On the other hand, the highest rates of annual increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for coke and refined petroleum products by 249.55%, for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning by 247.50%, for crude petroleum and natural gas by 243.52%.
Compared to general D-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 20 subdivisions while 9 subdivisions were higher
The lowest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were the indices for basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutic preparations by 0.41%, for computer, electronic and optical products by 1.60%, for other transport equipment by 2.34%.
On the other hand, the highest rates of monthly increase in D-PPI by subdivisions of industry were indices for coal and lignite by 25.40%, for crude petroleum and natural gas by 23.32%, for water; water treatment and supply services by 14.95%. (ILKHA)
