About 24,200 Russian soldiers killed since aggression began—Ukrainian Defense Ministry
Nearly 24,200 Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine since the aggression began, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ukraine’s forces destroyed 1,062 Russian tanks, 194 aircraft, 155 helicopters, and 2,567 armored carriers, according to the statement.
The statement added that Ukrainian forces had destroyed 475 Russian artillery systems.
According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), at least 3,153 Ukrainian civilians were killed in Russian attacks.
“From 4 a.m. on 24 February 2022, when the Russian Federation’s armed attack against Ukraine started, to 24:00 midnight on 1 May 2022 (local time), the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded 6,469 civilian casualties in the country: 3,153 killed and 3,316 injured,” the agency said.
Since Russian aggression against Ukraine country began, over 5.56 million refugees have left the country, while an estimated 7.1 million people have been displaced within the country. (ILKHA)
