Turkey closes airspace to Russian aircraft flying to Syria, FM says
Turkey has closed its airspace to Russian civilian and military aircraft flying to Syria, Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced on Saturday.
“We closed the airspace to Russia’s military aircraft – and even civilian ones – flying to Syria. We were giving permissions in three-month intervals. The latest one was until April. Our President also told Putin. Then the flights stopped. We carry out the process both in Montreux and other issues through dialogue,” Cavusoglu told journalists during his flight to Latin America.
Cavusoglu said that the ban would stay in place for three months. (ILKHA)
