Turkey’s agricultural producer price index rises by 84.11%-- statistical agency
Producer Price Index of Agricultural Products increased by 84.11% annually and 12.02% monthly, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.
Agriculture-PPI (2015=100) on the previous month increased by 12.02%, on December of the previous year increased by 46.31%, on same month of the previous year increased by 84.11% and on the twelve months moving averages basis increased by 36.59% in March 2022.
Compared to the previous month in sectors; products of agriculture, hunting and related services increased by 11.50%, forestry products and related services increased by 17.49% and fishing products and other fishing products increased by 25.66%. Regarding monthly changes by main groups; live animals and animal products increased by 6.20%, non-perennial crops increased by 12.56% and perennial crops increased by 16.98%.
Compared to general Agriculture-PPI, lower annual change observed in 7 subgroups while 4 subgroups were higher
Sheep and goats, live; raw milk and shorn wool from sheep and goats with 32.10% and citrus fruits with 32.31% were the subgroups that indicated lowest annual increase. On the other hand, fibre plants with 208.09%, vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 148.76% and cereals (except rice), leguminous crops and oil seeds with 110.56% were the subgroups where high annual increases realized.
Compared to general Agriculture-PPI, lower monthly change observed in 8 subgroups while 3 subgroups were higher
Dairy cattle, live and raw milk from dairy cattle with 5.16% and rice (in husk) with 5.73% were the subgroups that indicated lowest monthly increase. On the other hand, citrus fruits with 18.17% and vegetables and melons, roots and tubers with 17.38% were the subgroups that indicated high monthly increase. Other tree and bush fruits and nuts with 8.32% was the only subgroup that monthly decrease observed.
In March 2022, within average prices of 81 items in the index; the average prices of 4 items decreased and the average prices of 6 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 71 items increased. (ILKHA)
