Turkey issues arrest warrants for 23 DHKP-C members
Istanbul public prosecutor's office released arrest warrants against 23 DHKP-C linked suspects, who allegedly took part in illegal demonstrations on the anniversary of the Gazi Quarter riots.
While 16 suspects have been taken into custody, security forces are still looking for the remaining fugitive suspects.
The detained suspects are being interrogated in the provincial police department.
The suspects will be transferred to the courthouse when their official procedures at the police department are completed.
DHKP-C (the Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front) is a Turkish Marxist–Leninist party. It was founded in 1978 as Revolutionary Left and has been involved in a militant campaign against the Turkish government since the 1980s.
The group is classified as a terrorist group by Japan, Turkey, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. (ILKHA)
