Zionist police assault Palestinians, detain three others in Jerusalem
The zionist occupation police assaulted on Saturday a number of Palestinian citizens in Bab as-Sahira area in the Old City of Jerusalem and rounded up two young men and one kid.
According to local sources, mounted policemen and foot patrols attacked a group of citizens and charged at them with clubs before detaining two young men and one child in the area.
In a separate incident, violent clashes broke out with zionist forces on the same day in Asira al-Qibliya village, south of Nablus, after local residents fended off an attack by Jewish settlers on their homes.
Local sources said that a horde of extremist settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar hurled stones at homes on the outskirts of Asira al-Qibliya, prompting the residents in the area to respond and ward them off.
Soon later, zionist soldiers intervened to protect the settlers and embarked on opening fire and showering the local villagers with tear gas canisters.
The soldiers also kidnaped and assaulted chief of the village council Hafed Saleh before releasing him. (ILKHA)
