The zionist police forces set up a number of military checkpoints at the entrances to Occupied Jerusalem before the dawn hours, preventing the access of buses carrying West Bank worshipers.

Since the early hours of the dawn, hundreds of Palestinians gathered at the gates of Al-Aqsa to pray, confirming the Palestinians’ spiritual links to the holy site.

Hamas Movement had earlier called on Palestinians to intensify their presence at al-Aqsa Mosque in commemoration of the Land Day.

For his part, Jerusalem MP Ahmed Atoun called for mass participation in the Great Fajr campaign at Al-Aqsa Mosque in commemoration of the Land Day.

Atoun pointed to the Israeli plans to isolate Al-Aqsa Mosque and the city of Jerusalem, from their Islamic and Palestinian identity and roots by putting more restrictions on Palestinians' entry.

He also stressed the importance of the Great Fajr campaign in al-Aqsa in light of the growing Judaization plans in the holy site.

He further called for intensifying Palestinian permanent presence at al-Aqsa as it represents "our faith, past, present and future."

In his turn, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, called for large participation in the Great Fajr campaign Friday, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Performing Fajr prayer is a cornerstone and an important duty for Muslims, he said.

Sheikh Sabri pointed to the Israeli escalated attacks on al-Aqsa, holding the occupation responsible for the settlers' provocative break-ins into the holy site.

He further expected an increase in Muslim worshipers' number at al-Aqsa during the holy month of Ramadan. (ILKHA)
