As in many parts of the world, there are great difficulties in accessing clean water in many regions of Afghanistan.

Water wells opened by charities in regions that face difficulties in accessing clean water are pleasing the people in the country where more than 23 million people face acute hunger, including 9 million who are nearly famished, due to 2 decade-long US occupation.

With support from donors, Hope Caravan Foundation, an international help organization based in Istanbul, Turkey, built two water wells in the Aynalmecar and Ernezer villages of the Char Dara district in Kunduz.

After the opening ceremony, the Foundation officials gave out copies of the Holy Qur’an to the children who get Islamic education at the mosques of the villages.

Meanwhile, the foundation laid the foundation stone for a water well in Kawchi village of Sheberghan district in Jawzjan province.

The imam of the village’s mosque, who asked the foundation to repair the mosque where more than a hundred children attend Al-Quran reading classes, expressed his satisfaction with the project launched to drill a water well and prayed to the benefactors.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the water well, Cemal Çınar, the deputy chairman of the Hope Caravan Foundation, thanked the benefactors for their contributions to charity. (ILKHA)
