Russian airstrikes hit residential building in Ukraine's capital
Russian troops targeted a civilian apartment building in Kyiv, reportedly killing at least 2 people and injuring many others.
Airstrikes on civilian targets in Kyiv killed at least two people early on Tuesday morning, emergency services said, as Russian forces intensified their attacks on the Ukrainian capital.
“In Sviatoshynskyi district, as a result of a strike hitting a sixteen-storey residential building, there was significant damage to the building with subsequent fire from the 1st to the 16th floor. The bodies of two people were found at the scene, 35 people were rescued,” the emergency service said in a Facebook post.
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) verified a total of 636 civilian deaths during Russia's military attack on Ukraine as of March 13, 2022.
Of them, 46 were children. Furthermore, 1,125 people were reported to have been wounded. However, OHCHR underlined that the real numbers could be higher. (ILKHA)
