Delivering remarks at an event on Doctors’ Day, Erdoğan said: “As information and data become the most important value, the health sector continues to strengthen in this aspect as well. We want to elevate our country to the best place possible in the global health system.”

Congratulating doctors and all medical personnel on March 14 Doctors' Day, Erdoğan said: “I would like to extend my gratitude to our doctors and all medical personnel who work day and night to support our healthcare system during the pandemic.”

Noting that the World Health Organization defined health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being,” Erdoğan pointed out that this approach also turned medical services into one of the largest sectors in the world, and said: “As information and data become the most important value, the health sector continues to strengthen in this aspect as well. We want to elevate our country to the best place possible in the global health system.”

“We have achieved to build a system that can provide our people with the services they deserve”

Underlining that Türkiye not only had sufficient potential and means to train the medical force it needed but also advanced on the path of becoming a global healthcare center with growing appeal, Erdoğan said: “During the pandemic, Türkiye, with its hospitals, doctors, other medical personnel, tools and equipment, has proven that it has the capacity to provide our people with the best service.”

Stating that the reforms in health system and the robust medical infrastructure played a great part in this success, Erdoğan said: “We have worked in a spirit of mobilization. We have achieved to build a system that can provide our people with the services they deserve as opposed to disorderly, unproductive, insufficient and low-quality medical activities.”

Erdoğan continued his remarks as follows: “We have, to a great extent, improved our medical infrastructure, including our buildings and equipment. We have remarkably consolidated our medical human resources with the number of personnel nearing 1.3 million. Health services is one of the most significant areas of pride for our country. In health, as is the case in many other fields, we have reached a level where we need to focus on quality.” (ILKHA)
