Turkey’s milk production rises by 4.7% in January—statistical agency
Milk collected by integrated dairies was 836 thousand 959 tones in January, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Monday.
In January, while butter production increased by 55.7% and drinks made of yogurt (ayran) production increased by 28.6%; cheese production from cow's milk decreased by 11.5%, yogurt production decreased by 9.7%, drinking milk production decreased by 8.4% and the amount of collected cow's milk decreased by 5.7% when compared to the same month of the previous year.
The amount of collected cow's milk, which was 799 thousand 398 tons in the previous month, increased by 4.7% and became 836 thousand 959 tons in January. (ILKHA)
