Over 23 million people face acute hunger, including 9 million who are nearly famished, in Afghanistan due to 2 decade-long US occupation.

Afghan people, who had to sell their clothes and shoes in order to be able to buy food for their children, are waiting for help from all Islamic countries, especially Turkey, and from all states and international organizations with a conscience.

Thousands of people, including many orphans, are struggling to survive in makeshift internally displaced persons (IDP) camps throughout Afghanistan in inhumane conditions.

Hope Caravan Foundation, an international help organization based in Istanbul, Turkey, provided free bread to destitute families in IDP camp in Mazar-i Sharif city, northern Afghanistan.

The foundation officials personally went to the bakery where tens of thousands of bread were baked in the early hours of the morning to supervise the work on site.

“We are now in a bakery in Mazar-i Sharif. We have baked bread and will distribute them to people in need living in the IDP camp. May Allah be pleased with the philanthropists who made contributions to the charity,” said Nurulah Günaydın, the General Secretary of the foundation.

Speaking to Ilke News Agency, Mullah Cemal Çınar, the deputy chairman of the foundation, underlined that they had provided free bread to families with the support of the philanthropists.

“I would like to thank philanthropists for their precious contributions to our charitable works. We are trying to serve as a bridge between rich and poor,” he said. (ILKHA)
