The call addressed regional developments, including Russia's attack on Ukraine and the Türkiye-US relations, according to the Turkish presidency.
Stating that Türkiye continued its efforts in order for a political resolution to be reached between Russia and Ukraine, Erdoğan pointed to the importance of Türkiye's dialogue with both sides and facilitating position in seeking a solution in case the crisis deepened further.
Drawing attention to the importance of the Russian and Ukrainian Foreign Ministers getting an opportunity to hold a face-to-face talk hosted by Türkiye today in Antalya thanks to the channel of trust opened up by Türkiye, Erdoğan underscored that even the organization of such a meeting was in itself a diplomatic victory.
Stressing that Türkiye expected its demand from the US for the procurement of 40 new planes and the modernization of the existing F-16s to be finalized as soon as possible, Erdoğan noted that it was high time that all the unjust sanctions against Türkiye in the defense industry had been lifted.
