Magnitude 6.1 earthquake hits Fiji, no tsunami warning issued
A 6.1 magnitude quake occurred just offshore Ono-i-Lau at 5:34 pm FJT on Monday, the United States Geological Survey said, but no tsunami threat was issued.
The epicenter of the tremor was located about 345 km (215 miles) WNW of Haveluloto, Tonga, and 412 km (256 miles) SE of Suva, Fiji at a depth of 581 km (361 miles), the agency said.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat because the quake was too deep. (ILKHA)
