Hamas welcomes South African court decision over zionism
The deputy head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk has applauded what he described as “the historic verdict” that was taken by the Constitutional Court of South Africa over Zionism and Semitism.
In a recent decision, the South African Constitutional Court considered that anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism and that criticism of Zionism is not criticism of Jews.”
“The decision constitutes legal and political support for those who oppose the Zionist occupation of our Palestinian land after long years and decades of cheap blackmail that has been practiced by the Zionist entity against the countries and parties that do not approve its actions,” Abu Marzouk said in press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC).
The Hamas official added that “the Zionist entity” also tends to accuse its opponents of anti-Semitism as a blackmail tool to deprive the Palestinian people of obtaining the world’s support for their historical and legitimate rights.
The Hamas official expressed his belief that such South African judicial decision would contribute to encouraging other judicial authorities around the world to follow suit. (ILKHA)
